Day 1: Porto Airport/ São Bento Train Station And Favaios
Arrival at Porto Airport (OPO) or São Bento Train Station and welcome by a professional guide before departing towards the beautiful Douro Valley. Guests will travel to the charming village of Favaios for check-in at the elegant Casa das Padeiras 4* Hotel. The experience begins with an authentic bread-making workshop, where participants can discover one of the region’s oldest traditions while enjoying a typical Favaios cocktail. The day concludes with a delicious traditional dinner served at the hotel, offering the perfect introduction to the flavors and hospitality of the Douro region.
Day 2: Discovering The Heart Of The Douro Valley
After breakfast at the hotel, guests will discover the authentic charm of Favaios with a classic car tour through the picturesque wine village, including a stop at the stunning Santa Bárbara viewpoint overlooking the Douro landscapes. The journey continues with a visit to the Adega Cooperativa de Favaios for a Moscatel wine tasting, followed by a guided tour of the Bread and Wine Museum to learn about the region’s rich traditions.
At Quinta da Avessada, guests will enjoy a warm welcome with Moscatel wine before visiting the Enoteca to discover the traditional Port wine-making process and enjoy a tasting experience. A delicious traditional lunch will then be served at the Quinta.
In the afternoon, the experience continues towards the famous village of Pinhão, including a panoramic drive past its iconic train station. Guests will enjoy a relaxing one-hour cruise on a traditional Rabelo boat along the Douro River, followed by a wine tasting at a local Port wine estate. The day ends with a return to the hotel and a traditional dinner.
Day 3: Culture, Scenic Landscapes & Douro Traditions
After breakfast, guests will depart with a guide towards the beautiful Mateus region for a guided visit to the iconic Mateus Palace Chapel and its elegant gardens. The journey continues to the breathtaking São Leonardo de Galafura viewpoint, one of the most impressive panoramic spots overlooking the Douro Valley.
A traditional regional lunch will be served in Galafura before heading to Régua for a visit to the Douro Museum, where guests will discover the history, culture, and heritage of the world-famous wine region. The afternoon continues with a scenic drive along the spectacular N222 road, renowned for its stunning views over the Douro River and vineyards.
The day concludes with a visit and wine tasting at a local Port wine estate in the Pinhão area before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Off Road Adventure & Douro Traditions
After breakfast at the hotel, guests will embark on an exciting off-road adventure aboard a 4x4 jeep, exploring the breathtaking landscapes of the Douro demarcated region. This unique experience combines adrenaline, nature, and spectacular vineyard scenery, creating unforgettable memories in one of Portugal’s most iconic destinations.
During the tour, guests will stop at the magnificent Casal de Loivos Viewpoint, considered by UNESCO as one of the most beautiful panoramic spots in the Douro Valley. The journey continues with a guided visit to Azenha do Douro, where guests will learn about the traditional olive oil production process and enjoy a delicious olive oil tasting served with warm bread.
A traditional lunch will be served in the lands of the famous Douro writer Miguel Torga before departing by minivan towards Porto, marking the end of this memorable Douro experience.
